The Silver Streak Residency provides contemporary artists working around the United States and abroad with one-two week residency opportunities in scenic Bozeman Montana. Invited artists are provided with the use of the fully remodeled 1974 Silver Streak trailer, a gorgeous location, and logistical support at no cost. In exchange, participating artists are required to give a public lecture somewhere in Bozeman, leave a work of art for the Silver Streak exhibition collection, and document their individual experience for this website to allow others to vicariously enjoy the Streak.
Silver Streak Residents are encouraged to utilize their time to explore, fabricate objects, make work, draw, sketch or compose in natural settings and to relax and enjoy themselves during their stay.
We accept visual artists (occasionally writers, poets and musicians) who make a full range of work. We appreciate diversity in styles and encourage all contemporary artist and makers to apply. Whether your media is painting, wood carving, textiles, photography or video we can do our best to accommodate you so that your stay is both entertaining and productive.
What will your stay have in store for you?.
